Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them

“And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.’” (JN 20: 22-23)

Divine Mercy Sunday reminds us of His Resurrection and the grace of forgiveness; our sins can be forgiven—Our Lord left with us “the Holy Spirit” and His Divine Mercy. St. Faustina received the mission to remind us of His grace and His constant presence with us, especially in His Divine Mercy. With every one of our confessions, His Divine Mercy is proclaimed and celebrated.

“You believe in me, Thomas, because you have seen me, says the Lord; blessed are those who have not seen me, but still believe!” (Gospel Acclamation)
