To the childlike

“I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike.” (LK 10: 21)

On the other side of “the wise and the learned” are “the childlike,” Our Lord’s favorite ones. They listen to God’s word and follow it; they are believers and followers, not debaters like “the wise and the learned.”
