the childlike

“I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike.” (LK 10: 21) 

Sometimes we want to be very “wise and learned,” especially when we have difficult days in our relationship, and we are looking for arguments regarding who is right. We know by experience that this is the worst strategy; it makes our problem even bigger. Our Lord recommends a different strategy—be “the childlike”: open minded, always curious, forgetting fast, smiling and laughing easy, and expressing love and tenderness naturally.
