Six days before Passover

April 10, 2017 6:00 am

“Six days before Passover Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. They gave a dinner for him there, and Martha served, while Lazarus was one of those reclining at table with him.” (JN 12: 1-2)

Counting down: “six days before Passover.” Our Lord’s life is focused on us: “Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was” and had a good time with friends: “they gave a dinner for him there.” This is all His life: focusing on others and looking for time to spend together. And after six days, He will offer His life for us–to make our eternity with Him possible.

“Hail to you, our King; you alone are compassionate with our faults.” (Gospel Acclamation)
