Rise, and do not be afraid

“While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud cast a shadow over them, then from the cloud came a voice that said, ‘This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.’ When the disciples heard this, they fell prostrate and were very much afraid. But Jesus came and touched them, saying, ‘Rise, and do not be afraid.’”

God the Father sent His beloved Son to proclaim the Good News to us, to bring us salvation and to invite us to heaven. Without a close relationship with Our Lord, without listening to Him, and without following Him, this will be impossible. Our Lord’s words: “Rise, and do not be afraid,” are for us too and remind us never to give up.
