remembering you in our prayers

August 26, 2019 7:17 am

“We give thanks to God always for all of you, remembering you in our prayers, unceasingly calling to mind your work of faith and labor of love and endurance in hope of our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father, knowing, brothers and sisters loved by God, how you were chosen.” (1 TES 1: 2-4)

This is a very special way of remembering: “remembering about you in our prayers.” We not only remember people, places and actions, but we also remember the presence of God, His grace, “knowing brothers and sisters loved by God, how you were chosen.” Our prayers become places of gratitude, “labor of love and endurance in hope.”

“My sheep hear my voice, says the Lord; I know them, and they follow me.” (Gospel Acclamation)
