One’s life does not consist of possessions

“Take care to guard against all greed, for though one may be rich, one’s life does not consist of possessions.” (LK 12: 15)

Sometimes we can meet people whose position is based on possessions; the more they have, the happier they are. But it is not true. Our dignity and our position come from our relationship with God—we are His beloved children, and we do not need to have something to be loved; we are loved unconditionally. God’s world is based on different strategies: the more we give, the more we are; that means we are to be “rich in what matters to God.”

“Blessed are the poor in spirit; for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.” (Gospel Acclamation)
