If my brother sins against me

August 11, 2016 6:05 am

“‘Lord, if my brother sins against me, how often must I forgive him? As many as seven times?’ Jesus answered, ‘I say to you, not seven times but seventy-seven times.’” (MT 18: 21-22)

Our daily life situations include—“my brother sins against me” and I sin against him/her. This happens not because I wanted it, but because we are different: with different experiences, a different life story, a different hierarchy of values and a different level of fragility. Jesus gives us only one strategy—forgive! Always! “Not seven times but seventy-seven times”—limitless forgiveness.

“Let your countenance shine upon your servant and teach me your statutes.” (Gospel Acclamation)
