her whole livelihood

“I tell you truly, this poor widow put in more than all the rest; for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood.” (LK 21: 3-4) 

It sounds exactly like our “gift of self”— not many or much, not a lot of, but “her whole livelihood.” The true “gift of self,” is free, creative, and joyful and always seeks for an opportunity to give all love to our spouses.
