He opens my ear that I may hear

“Morning after morning he opens my ear that I may hear; and I have not rebelled, have not turned back.” (IS 50: 4-5)

One of our daily rituals is to listen to His words and His messages and to follow His directions. He knows how important it is for us to go in the right direction. This is only possible because “He opens my ear that I may hear.” Our Lord didn’t leave us His writings; He left us Himself—He is the Word— living and creative, joyful and hope-filled. He is the living Word, God the Son, and He—“morning after morning”— wants to speak to us, be with us, assist us and lead us to Heaven to be with us for eternity.

“Christ became obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Because of this, God greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above every name.” (Gospel Acclamation)
