Give and gifts will be given to you

“Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you.” (LK 6: 38)

The only happy people are those who are givers of self. Because their gift is free and comes from their own free will, it is also creative and joyful. Demanders are always unhappy, expecting happiness from others. For them even gifts are part of a contract. When we give with joy, we imitate Our Lord, who came to give us “everlasting life.”
