For the work to which I have called them

“While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.’” (ACTS 13: 2)

While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting,” the Holy Spirit was able to ask them to “set apart for Him Barnabas and Saul for the work to which He has called them.” Two things were needed—“worshiping and fasting” and the apostles being ready-to-send. All of us are invited “for the work to which the Holy Spirit has called us”: different missions, but the same Caller, different tasks, but the same love.

“Incline my heart, O God, to your decrees; and favor me with your law.” (Gospel Acclamation)
