But I say to you—2

June 18, 2019 7:37 am

“But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust.” (MT 5: 44-45)

The new life we received needs a new life-style. Loving only those who are close to us and easy to love is easier than “love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” Our Lord invites us to follow Him, Who “makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust.” Being like the sun means to be yourself, just shine, because this is your nature; the sun doesn’t depend on somebody’s humor.

“I give you a new commandment: love one another as I have loved you.” (Gospel Acclamation)
