Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed

“Then he said to Thomas, ‘Put your finger here and see my hands, and bring your hand and put it into my side, and do not be unbelieving, but believe.’ Thomas answered and said to him, ‘My Lord and my God!’ Jesus said to him, ‘Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.’” (JN 20: 27-29)

Thanks to St. Thomas the Apostle, we received another proof of Our Lord’s resurrection: “Put your finger here and see my hands, and bring your hand and put it into my side, and do not be unbelieving, but believe.” Being believers doesn’t mean that everything is simple or that we will never have doubts, but we can always answer, like St. Thomas, “My Lord and my God,” hoping that His blessing for “those who have not seen and believed” will reach us in a very special way.

“You believe in me, Thomas, because you have seen me, says the Lord; blessed are those who have not seen, but still believe!” (Gospel Acclamation)
