His heart was moved with pity for them…

“At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd.” (MT 9: 36)

Jesus and His heart are one. He is always looking for those who are in need. He is always helping, concerned, protective, supporting. When we are givers, not demanders, when we are focused on our spouses and what they need, then we are closer and closer to His heart, “moved with pity.” 

“The LORD is our Judge, our Lawgiver, our King; he it is who will save us.” (Gospel Acclamation)
