because you did not believe my words

“I am Gabriel, who stand before God. I was sent to speak to you and to announce to you this good news. But now you will be speechless and unable to talk until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled at their proper time.” (LK 1: 19-20)

The Good News was also announced to us: you are God’s child, you are the spouse—his wife/her husband, and because it is your vocation, you can expect all support and all graces to help you be the most amazing spouse; but we have doubts. Maybe I am God’s child, but probably the last one, or even the forgotten one; maybe my marriage is sacramental, but God forgot about us because my spouse is so difficult and I am not happy in my relationship. Why not be “speechless and unable to talk” about being unhappy – for just a moment—and be more grateful for all the graces we have received. Let’s trust God, Who “came to save us without delay!”
