Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners

“This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. Of these I am the foremost. But for that reason I was mercifully treated, so that in me, as the foremost, Christ Jesus might display all his patience as an example for those who would come to believe in him for everlasting life.” (1 TM 1: 15-16)

We are loved not because we are perfect, but because we are limited and weak: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.” Our Lord doesn’t look at us with reservations, but with “full acceptance,” because He created us and knows our potential and possibilities. He is patient and can wait for the fruits from “whoever loves Him [and] will keep His word.”

“Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him.” (Gospel Acclamation)
