With anger and grief.

“Looking around at them with anger and grieved at their hardness of heart, Jesus said to the man, ‘Stretch out your hand.’ He stretched it out, and his hand was restored.” (MK 3: 5)

Our Lord had emotions, and He wasn’t afraid to expose them. He experienced anger and pity, joy and exhaustion, disgust, sorrow, compassion, frustration, agony, empathy, and forgiveness. Our Lord had a normal human life. At the same moment, His sometimes very tough emotions weren’t an excuse to behave or take action based only on these emotions and as an excuse to explode and let these emotions escape—He always did good things. Our Lord was angry but said, “stretch out your hand. And his hand was restored.” Part of our extreme ownership is to be like Him.

“Jesus preached the Gospel of the Kingdom and cured every disease among the people.” (Gospel Acclamation)
