will be called greatest in the Kingdom of heaven

“But whoever obeys and teaches these commandments will be called greatest in the Kingdom of heaven.” (MT 5: 19)

Being called “greatest in the Kingdom of heaven” doesn’t need to be extraordinary or amazing. It needs only to “obey and teach these commandments,” which could be summarized to the most important commandment: love God and love your neighbor. For all of us, spouses and parents, priests and consecrated people, friends and coworkers, God didn’t make our lives complicated. Just the opposite; He made our lives simple: love each other. This makes us “greatest.”
