Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven?

“The disciples approached Jesus and said, ‘Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven?’ He called a child over, placed it in their midst, and said, ‘Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the Kingdom of heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me.’” (MT 18: 1-5)

It is good to think about greatness; it is good to want to be really great, even the greatest. What Our Lord wants for us, is to think the right way: not how to dominate on others, how to impress others, but how to be connected with others, how to be in one of the most intimate relationships—like a child, who loves not because can do something, but loves because it is it nature.

“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart.” (Gospel acclamation)
