When you pray, say: Father

October 11, 2017 6:00 am

“When you pray, say: Father, hallowed be your name, your Kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread and forgive us our sins for we ourselves forgive everyone in debt to us, and do not subject us to the final test.” (LK 11: 2-4)

This is the most wonderful way we can call God, Who is not only our Creator but also the “Father.” This is how Our Lord would like to be called: not by His power, but by His relationship with us. We are for Him firstly His children.

“You have received a spirit of adoption as sons through which we cry: Abba! Father!” (Gospel Acclamation)
