What do you want me to do for you?

“Jesus said to him in reply, ‘What do you want me to do for you?’ The blind man replied to him, ‘Master, I want to see.’ Jesus told him, ‘Go your way; your faith has saved you.’ Immediately he received his sight and followed him on the way.” (MK 10: 51-52)

This is almost the same question as on last Sunday: “ What do you want me to do for you?” But this time the answer is not about authority and power but about the ability to see. Bartimaeus had no doubts about what was the most important thing to him. Our Lord repeats this question every day because He loves us and wants to know what we expect from Him. We can reply to Him every day: I want to see my relatives’ needs; I want to see what I can change for the better; I want to see how to love more, etc.

“Our Savior Jesus Christ destroyed death and brought life to light through the Gospel.” (Gospel Acclamation)
