Then he embraced the children and blessed them

“When Jesus saw this he became indignant and said to them, ‘Let the children come to me; do not prevent them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
Amen, I say to you, whoever does not accept the Kingdom of God like a child will not enter it.’ Then he embraced the children and blessed them, placing his hands on them.” (MK 10: 14-16)

Our children are so important because “the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” They need to be “embraced and blessed” also by their parents. When parents love each other and when they grow in love, take care of their relationship with gentleness, respect, gift of self and rituals, dialog and transparency, their children are secure, loved and protected. There is nothing more important for children than being loved by a married couple loving each other.

“Blessed are you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth; you have revealed to little ones the mysteries of the Kingdom.” (Gospel Acclamation)
