The mighty and the lowly

“He has mercy on those who fear him in every generation. He has shown the strength of his arm, and has scattered the proud in their conceit. He has cast down the mighty from their thrones and has lifted up the lowly.” (LK 2: 50-52)

Our Lord has a special penchant for the lowly and “those who fear him in every generation.” He takes care of those who trust in Him not those who are “scattered in their conceit.” He protects all who are weak, in trouble or lost. 

“O King of all nations and keystone of the Church: come and save man, whom you formed from the dust!” (Gospel Acclamation)
