The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful

“The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful. Elijah was a man like us; yet he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain upon the land. Then Elijah prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the earth produced its fruit.” (JAS 5: 16-18)

Prayer is the way that we protect our relationship with God. Just as without having a conversation, without sharing and taking care of each other, we can’t develop friendship, so without prayer we can’t develop a strong and vivid relationship with God. Prayer is more about relationship than just an action.
