Gentleness

April 4, 2014 10:33 am

“With revilement and torture let us put him to the test that we may have proof of his gentleness and try his patience.” (Wis 2:19)

Gentleness is connected with patience. It expresses the full respect for the dignity of the other person. It is not just a simple reaction to somebody’s nice and kind behavior. It comes from the depth of my heart. The heart staying close to God, grounded in His love and rooted in His Word. Gentleness is the result of the fight with my own weakness and and the only proper attitude towards another person.

“One does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.” (Verse before the Gospel)

He will never forget

April 2, 2014 6:12 pm

“Can a mother forget her infant, be without tenderness for the child of her womb? Even should she forget, I will never forget you.” (Is 49:15).

Never. Which means: we are ALWAYS in His heart. When we are away from our loved ones, we use letters or various little things that remind us of those people. He doesn’t need any of these. He will never forget us. There is no person in this world who is forgotten by Him. Among us, it is much easier, when we send to each other some nice reminders. It helps. The more we receive from God, the more we can share with the others.

“God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved trough him” (Jn 3:17).

A cup of water

February 27, 2014 5:25 pm

“Anyone who gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ, amen, i say to you, will surely not lose his reward.” (Mk 9:41)

A simple gesture. “A cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ … will… not lose his reward”. He takes care of us. He knows about our needs. And He will take care of them. Even such simple things like a cup of water to drink.

There is only one IF. If people can recognize you belong to Christ.

So IF you received a cup of water to drink, or a breakfast, or dinner or anything else just because you belong to Christ – be sure that the people who helped you will not lose their reward. And knowing Him, you should remember His proportions – “will receive a hundred times as much, and also inherit eternal life” (Mt 19:29).

“Receive the word of God, not as the word of men, but as truly is, the word of God” (Alleluia versus)

Anger and prayer

February 16, 2014 9:07 pm

“…anyone who is angry with a brother will answer for it before the court…” (Mt 5:22)

God takes care of our relations.

Being “angry with a brother” could be the sign of my own vision for him. And my own expectations. It could be also a sign of injustice, but so often is a source of future vengeance (or a plan for it).

My brother, even weak and sinful, is God’s child and deserves respect, and always, especially when in need, needs my prayer.

Anger is not a solution. Rather a call for patience, calm and compassion.

“Be good to your servant, that I may live and keep your words. Open my eyes, that I may consider the wonders of your law.” (Ps 119, 17-18)

Formed me

January 19, 2014 2:13 pm

“…formed me in the womb…” (Iz 49:5)

This is about me. This is about my spouse. This is about our children, friends, parents, neighbors. This is also about Him and our relations.

“Formed me…”. This is not an automatic creation. This is personal. This is about how important I am for Him. My existence is a proof of God’s love. The experience of Eve was: ‘I have acquired a man with the help of Yahweh,’ (Gen 4:1). And of so many women who become mothers.

“Formed me…” The source of my dignity. I can be the weakest person in the world and He will never stop loving me. I will never stop being His son, His likeness. I can’t lose it, no one can take it away from me.

And this is the perfect gift I can offer to my spouse, to our children, friends… Myself as a child of God. When I am giving myself to others, God is always included. Without Him I do not exists. With Him I can fulfill my life.

“Formed me…” and loves me in every moment in my life.

“We have come to know and to believe in the love that God has for us” (1 Jn 4:16).

The Brussels Sparkle keeps twinkling

December 2, 2013 7:38 am

In the so called “heart of Europe” this time we
greeted Father Darek. This was a beautiful and fruitful
time, a big thankyou! As usual, we had also a lot of fun:
children played around on mountains of mattresses and
pillows, they visited goats and played on the playground.
Meanwhile, adults discovered the ancient art of eating
without (forgotten) cutlery and of making a grill on a
completely rusty grate. It was a bit like the story of five
loaves of bread and two fish – we gave what we could give
and God has done the rest.

I wonder what culinary adventure
we will have next time? One thing is certain – there’s a
spiritual adventure coming…

The Brussels Sparkle

October 15, 2013 9:29 am

On October 13th, when Pope Francis consecrated the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, a small group of the Holy Family met for the first time in Brussels. It is yet to early to call it a real Group and other conditions must also be met so it is at the moment more like a small sparkle that will hopefully turn into a real flame.

We hosted here Father Wiesław and this was the only professional element of the whole undertaking – the rest was a more or less spontaneous improvisation. The room we rented turned out to have been rented before by someone else, so has the church, so we wandered through the convent building in a joyful pilgrimage. To have the feeling of a meal together, we ordered in Pizza Hut 18 pizzas that were duly blessed by Father Wiesław. But it was as usual: what really happened turned out to be better than our plans – we could have our Mass in peace and did not need to hurry (which would have been the case if we had organised it in the church – there was another Mass coming).

Please pray for us so that we can continue and welcome to the group as many people as possible.
