Remain in me, as I remain in you.

“Remain in me, as I remain in you. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me.” (JN 15: 4)

We are so loved by Our Lord, that He wants to remain in us. How often we think about ourselves as weak people, with many limitations, bad reactions, disappointments, with opportunities for angry and distress; yet, Our Lord “remains in us.” It happens in our lives that there are days when we are stronger and lead our spouses; there are days when our spouses are stronger, and we know that we can count on them. Our Lord remains in us to protect us, to lead us, and to support us so that we can bear fruit.

“Remain in me as I remain in you, says the Lord. Whoever remains in me will bear much fruit.” (Gospel Acclamation
