Pagans and believers

“All these things the pagans seek. Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom (of God) and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides.” (Mt 6: 32-33)

Two different perspectives for our life: only here, on earth, with the end which is rarely happy, or starting here and never-ending in Heaven. When only here – this is the only time you have to enjoy life and you have to think about yourself; when only starting here, you have eternity to enjoy and naturally you are interested in seeking “the kingdom of God and His righteousness” first, knowing “all these things will be given you besides.” Life for myself or life for others?

“Jesus Christ became poor although he was rich, so that by his poverty you might become rich.” (Gospel Acclamation)
