More than all the rest

“I tell you truly, this poor widow put in more than all the rest; for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood.” (LK 21: 3-4)

When we compare our spouses with our idealistic vision for them, they have no chance. If we change ourselves, when we “put in more than all the rest,” we win. We can only change ourselves; we can make this world a better place when we are focused on being better, more positive, more optimistic, more gentle, more respectful, and always more focused on giving than on demanding.
