love your enemies

“But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust.” (MT 5: 43-45)

It is much easier to love those who deserve it. How limited we are! We can be in crisis with our spouses because of something really simple and not important. We can be wounded because of an idealistic vision of our spouses; we have high expectations and demands. It is good to remember what God teaches us because, fortunately, our spouse is not our real enemy.
