It is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher

July 15, 2017 6:00 am

“No disciple is above his teacher, no slave above his master. It is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher, for the slave that he become like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household!”

We call ourselves Our Lord’s disciples. We want to be like He is. To “become like our Master,” we need to spend time with Him: listen to Him, observe Him, ask Him and talk to Him. We can do it every day when opening our Bible and reading the portion of it from the daily readings and meditating on His life. He will teach us, and He will give us strength when we are “insulted for the name of Christ.”

“If you are insulted for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of God rests upon you.” (Gospel Acclamation)
