“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother. This is the first commandment with a promise, that it may go well with you and that you may have a long life on earth. Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up with the training and instruction of the Lord.” (EPH 6: 1-4)

“In the Lord,” “of the Lord,” “the Lord, and “from the Lord”–for St. Paul everything directs to Our Lord, and he wants to direct everybody to the Lord. He is the answer to all our questions, He is the One Who knows the Father and knows where our destination is and what our vocation is. Through Him, and with Him and in Him, we can fulfill our lives.
