how much more

July 28, 2019 6:00 am

“What father among you would hand his son a snake when he asks for a fish? Or hand him a scorpion when he asks for an egg? If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?” (LK 11: 11-13)

The same thing happens with every gift of self, who is free, creative and joyful-when we received such a gift our response is “how much more” we can offer. Sincere gift brings sincere gifts. When we are truly givers we create a new world around ourselves-people who are more concerned about giving than receiving. Every gift creates a different world; like God’s gift, who gave us “s Spirit of adoption.”

“You have received a Spirit of adoption, through which we cry, Abba, Father.” (Gospel Acclamation)
