He will save his people from their sins

“Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through the Holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her. She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” (MT 1: 20-21)

Our Lord is coming. We started counting the days of His arriving with the beginning of Advent, but especially this week is a direct preparation for His birthday. Every day we are focused on the mystery of His presence among us. He is coming as our Savior—“to save his people from their sins.” We are under His protection. We are loved.
