He remains faithful

“If we have died with him we shall also live with him; if we persevere we shall also reign with him. But if we deny him he will deny us. If we are unfaithful he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself.” (2 TM 2, 11-13)

St. Paul gives us an example of Our Lord’s unconditional love: “If we are unfaithful he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself.” We are loved, because we are God’s beloved children, not because we did something which deserves God’s love. This is one of the most certain things in our lives—we are loved because “He remains faithful.”
