He is not God of the dead but of the living

“As for the dead being raised, have you not read in the Book of Moses, in the passage about the bush, how God told him, I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? He is not God of the dead but of the living. You are greatly misled.” (MK 12: 26-27)

God, when gives, gives forever; when He gives life, He wants us to be living forever. We have time on Earth, but this is only a preparation time to spend whole eternity with Him. Time here is for just one reason—to give us an opportunity to learn how to love. Learn how to love ourselves, with our limits and weaknesses, with our fragility and fears; and learn to love our spouses with their limits and weaknesses, with their fragility and fears. We need to learn first that we are lovable, abundant, and enough, and from this point it will be easier to love our spouses, because love is in giving not receiving, love is in action, not emotion only, love is in making our spouses happy, not using them to make us happy. This Program creates a civilization of love and life. God is love and life itself. He is God of the living and the loving.

“I am the resurrection and the life, says the Lord; whoever believes in me will never die.” (Gospel Acclamation)
