Family Space

May 16, 2012 7:30 am

Family Space is our new place in the Harbour: empty, so far, but to be filled with stories. With the records of family life – wherever family life happens in its whole diversity and likeness.

We’d like to ask you for your help in creating it. One way to do so – is to share the blogs you’ve been writing (or photoblogs) or your family websites. Another way – will be suggested very soon.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

The “Harbour” Team

the wind in the willows

April 25, 2012 7:32 am

I don’t know how about elsewhere in Poland, but in Wrocław it’s windy. This is good, because we may hope Fr. Jay has been blown back to the country. We were so happy to read what he shared with us as an overseas correspondent. Thanks to that we could be a bit there, in the heart of the “happening” of things that were not quite ordinary. And we are so grateful to Mrs Sue Hilgers for her post – shining with the break of the day –  in which we can see so clearly that the Holy Family chooses most surprising and beautiful places to receive guests – their loved children. Right in the middle of a highway!

No less extraordinary did it feel to greet among our Readers the Organizers and Participants of the Educational Program at the Pope Paul VI in Omaha. It is our great wish that you could feel in the Harbour completely at home. We would like you to find here a place of taking a rest before getting back to your chores – a place you can always return to.

We would like all the Readers to feel invited to share your experience and words of encouragement with others. We’re looking forward to the “postcards” from the places – near or far away – where you can live by faith. We’re waiting for your texts which we could post in The Harbour. Please, mail them to: [email protected].

With best regards,

Harbour Blog Team

Fr. Jay in Nebraska

April 16, 2012 1:50 pm

Fr. Jay chose the airway to get to the USA, but let’s not worry, the Atlantic Ocean is not a problem these days, when you can communicate with the rest of the world using “the air” too. That’s why we’re pleased to announce the beginning of a new cycle – “Fr. Jay in Nebraska” – his notes from his stay in the US.

One might feel tempted to suspect Fr. Jay went there to find a safe haven, where he wouldn’t be chased by married couples in crisis or families in trouble. Right now he is in the heart of NaProTechnology – wxactly where this science was originated by Prof. Hilgers – at the Pope Paul VI Institute in Omaha, Nebraska. His mission is that of spiritual assistance for the participants of Educational Program for Medical Consultants, who came there from all around the world.

Actually, it seems that pastoral family counselling has left its mark on our Foundation Leader to the extent that it could no longer be called just “professional bias”. Even in the ZOO, instead of enjoying the company of the anthropoid animals which don’t need communication workshops, he is making thorough observations. Which will be presented here soon.

Holy Thursday

April 5, 2012 6:00 am

St. John Marie Vianney was able to look at priests through the eyes of faith. He used to say, if he met an angel an a priest, he would greet the priest first. Because it’s the priest who acts on behalf of Christ on the earth.

“Go to confession to the Blessed Virgin, or to an angel; will they absolve you? No. Will they give you the Body and Blood of Our Lord? No. The Holy Virgin cannot make her Divine Son descend into the Host. You might have two hundred angels there, but they could not absolve you. A priest, however simple he may be, can do it.” (St. J. M. Vianney)

Today we would like to express our gratitude and offer our prayer to all the priests.

We would like to greet Fr. Jay, who invited “The Harbour” to find its place on The Family Support Foundation website, and whom we owe so much in different areas of our lives. We also remember the other priests from both the Institute of the Holy Family and the related communities, who provide us with their invaluable ministry.

We would like to say “Thank you” to all the priests who visit “The Harbour”, who bless us and who pray for us.

May the Lord bless you and give you a deep peace of heart and joy in the immense gift of your priesthood – and in your day-to-day ministry.
