By its own fruit

“For every tree is known by its own fruit. For people do not pick figs from thorn-bushes, nor do they gather grapes from brambles. A good person out of the store of goodness in his heart produces good, but an evil person out of a store of evil produces evil; for from the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks.” (LK 6: 44-45)

We are invited to change our relationship for better through changing ourselves: “for every tree is known by its own fruit.” A husband changes himself for his wife, and a wife changes herself for her husband; they bring their own fruits for the same goal—to grow always in love. Instead of expecting that our spouses will change, we change ourselves—for them.

“Shine like lights in the world as you hold on to the word of life.” (Gospel Acclamation)
