Blessed eyes

“Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. For I say to you, many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, but did not see it, and to hear what you hear, but did not hear it.” (LK 10: 23-24)

We are luckierthan “many prophets and kings who desired to see what we see” but “did not see it.” During every Holy Mass, we can look at Our Lord, and when we do this our eyes change into “blessed eyes.” We can take our “blessed eyes” to our homes and look at our spouses, children and friends with a new glance because Our Lord “will enlighten the eyes of his servants” and will help us to see in a new way, a blessed way.

“Behold, our Lord shall come with power; he will enlighten the eyes of his servants.” (Gospel Acclamation)
