Anyone but Jesus alone with them

February 18, 2017 6:36 am

“Then a cloud came, casting a shadow over them; then from the cloud came a voice,
‘This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.’ Suddenly, looking around, the disciples no longer saw anyone but Jesus alone with them.” (MK 9: 7-8)

It is good to remember that God reminds us to Whom we should listen—“This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.” Our Lord is always with us. Sometimes we can’t see anybody who takes care of us, but He is always there for us—“the disciples no longer saw anyone but Jesus alone with them.” In Jesus we trust.

“The heavens were opened and the voice of the Father thundered: ‘This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.’” (Gospel Acclamation)
