Anxieties of daily life

“Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy from carousing and drunkenness and the anxieties of daily life, and that day catch you by surprise like a trap.” (LK 21: 34-35)

It looks like not only “carousing and drunkenness” but also “the anxieties of daily life” are dangerous in our lives. It is probably easier to stop the first one, but more difficult to stop the second one. When we add more gentleness to our daily lives and when we start practicing small gestures of softness or sweetness to our spouses or children, we can achieve a better life.

“Be vigilant at all times and pray that you may have the strength to stand before the Son of Man.” (Gospel Acclamation)
