All the people were hanging on his words

“The chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people, meanwhile, were seeking to put him to death, but they could find no way to accomplish their purpose because all the people were hanging on his words.” (LK 19: 47-48)

The story is from the beginning the same: on one side authorities “were seeking to put him to death” and on the other, “all the people were hanging on his words.” God, eliminated from the public sphere, has a space in our houses. When we “hear His voice,” we can change our houses into holy houses, like the Holy Family.

“My sheep hear my voice, says the Lord; I know them, and they follow me.” (Gospel Acclamation)
