I have much more to tell you

May 20, 2020 4:00 am

“I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth.” (JN 16: 12-13)

Whatever we know about Our Lord, it is not finished. We can learn about Him every day and actually we will do it in Heaven and we will have for it all eternity. It is because love is always creative, love is always moving, always a concern, and always in giving. Because God is love, we will never stop learning about Him; there will be always something new to learn about Him and to listen to Him.

“I will ask the Father and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always.” (Gospel Acclamation)

It is better for you that I go

May 19, 2020 4:00 am

“But I tell you the truth, it is better for you that I go. For if I do not go, the Advocate will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.” (JN 16: 7)

Whatever Our Lord does for us, has always the same purpose: “it is better for you.” Always concern about us, always looking at what is better for us. We can do the same when we take care of our relationship: what is better for my spouse, which is better for our family, which is better for our children.

“I will send to you the Spirit of truth, says the Lord; he will guide you to all truth.” (Gospel Acclamation)

When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father

May 18, 2020 4:00 am

“When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, he will testify to me. And you also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.” (JN 15: 26-27)

We expect additional help from Our Lord. The same way how He supported His Apostles, Our Lord will “send us from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father.” With the Holy Spirit, we will be more protected and led in the right direction.

“The Spirit of truth will testify to me, says the Lord, and you also will testify.” (Gospel Acclamation)

I will not leave you orphans

May 17, 2020 4:00 am

“I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me, because I live and you will live. On that day you will realize that I am in my Father and you are in me and I in you.” (JN 14: 18-20)

God’s promise: “I will not leave you orphans.” Our Lord knows perfectly, that our nature, created by God, lies in relationship, we are created to be united, to live together with others. This is the reason why “it is not good to be alone”—the first man experience. We are growing when we are in a relationship when we can be united and important for somebody. This is why Our Lord promised: “I will come to you.” Whatever could happen to us, we are always in God’s heart, we are always important to Him.

“Whoever loves me will keep my word, says the Lord, and my Father will love him and we will come to him.” (Gospel Acclamation)

I have chosen you out of the world

May 16, 2020 4:00 am

“If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own; but because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world, the world hates you.” (JN 15: 18-19)

We can ask: why me, why us? We have no ideas; hopefully, we will learn about it later in heaven. But the fact is simple: we were chosen, God recognizes in us something important for the world, some gifts we can share with others. We are important, and the mission is important. And we can expect some “hate” and some rejections, but more important is that Our Lord knows about it and He will protect us. We just need to look at Him and expect from Him all support we need.

“If then you were raised with Christ, seek what is above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.” (Gospel Acclamation)

love one another as I love you

May 15, 2020 6:01 am

“This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (JN 15: 12-13)

We call this a new commandment. But its novelty is not in to “love one another,” but in “as I love you.” We are invited to imitate His love, which is His Father’s love to us, expressed by Our Lord in the most amazing way. “To lay down one’s life” is a daily life of every married and consecrated person; more joy is in giving not in receiving. The givers are happier than receivers.

“I call you my friends, says the Lord, for I have made known to you all that the Father has told me.” (Gospel Acclamation)

Love one another

May 14, 2020 4:00 am

“It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you. This I command you:  love one another.” (JN 15: 16-17)

There is no better fruit we can bear, like “love one another.” This is the only mission of Our Lord—to teach us how much we are loved and how much we can love one another. This is the reason we were created, this is the reason we live in our vocation, this is the reason we are parents, and this is the reason we are related to others. This commandment is the summary of all commandments: “love one another.”

“I chose you from the world, to go and bear fruit that will last, says the Lord.” (Gospel Acclamation)

Remain in me.

May 13, 2020 4:00 am

“Remain in me, as I remain in you. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me.” (JN 15: 4)

We can forget, we can live like God doesn’t exist, but Our Lord promised to “remain in us.” He knows that the only way we can “bear fruit” is when we are connected to Him when we are close to Him, and when we are in a relationship with Him. The more we are conscious, the more we remain in Him, the more and better fruits we can bear for our spouses, for our children, for the Church, and for the society.

“Remain in me, as I remain in you, says the Lord; whoever remains in me will bear much fruit.” (Gospel Acclamation)

Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid

May 12, 2020 4:00 am

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.” (JN 14: 27)

Peace is so important; it needs to be protected from troubles, problems, and anything that scares us. This is why we protect our spouses from our thoughts, from our inner dialog, especially from our mistaken patterns of interpretation in our inner dialog. When we protect peace in our hearts, we can make smarter decisions; we can correctly judge and take actions which bring peace to our families.

“Christ had to suffer and to rise from the dead, and so enter into his glory.” (Gospel Acclamation)

The Advocate, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name

May 11, 2020 4:00 am

“I have told you this while I am with you. The Advocate, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name—he will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you.” (JN 14: 25-26)

It is unbelievable how important we are for God; not only do we receive Our Lord who is dwelling in our hearts with God the Father, but we also receive the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, who teaches us everything and reminds us of all that Our Lord has told us. Loved, protected, and led; this is how we can imitate God’s love and be for our spouses and our children.

“The Holy Spirit will teach you everything and remind you of all I told you.” (Gospel Acclamation)
